Sometimes I find myself so frustrated with the lack of attention to editorial judgment when it comes to photography and visuals that are published with print pieces. Here’s one example. The picture you see (Is this a screen grab or a still from Jim Gehrz’s camera?) accompanies a story in the Star Tribune recapping an August 24th debate between Mark Dayton, Tom Emmer, and Tom Horner at the University of St. Thomas. Too bad the shot is actually from a debate held at TPT earlier this August. Would they pull in quotes from another debate and pass them off as part of the current debate without attribution? No. But here the Star Tribune is doing exactly that. My guess it isn’t to mislead; it’s just pure laziness and lack of regard for its audience.
